Elephants and the Bees

This distant sound, a drone; a grinding drone of vehicles set mid city this moment.  Reflections of landscaped trees… the bees have all gone home, they are the seniors, the old, the forgotten insects, once young forming s’s amongst the trees, they now can be only seen hopping listlessly on a vacant tennis court or sputtering betwixt the algae upon a sandy beach. I cry for them and even this salt watered tear will not nourish them. I wait still for the Elephants that had been shipped out of the Serengeti and repositioned here in Los Angeles. I wait for them as they march down Wilshire Boulevard defying large automobiles and dwarfing buildings and people. Perhaps these Elephants are the Ones, the Ones that roam the Earth to search for the bees encouraging them to regenerate…
